Angel Thacker - Chief Executive

Angel is Creator and Founder of Dance
Masters of Belly Dance, Artistic Director of Afro-Belly
Boogie Dance Company and CADA founder. She is a dancer and
intuitive fife coach based in San Lorenzo, CA. Dancing has
been a part of her fitness regime for more than 20 years,
giving her greater confidence and longevity through a
variety of careers in performing arts and the corporate
world. With balanced foundations in both African and Belly
Dance, she performs and promotes in the belly dance
community using the African influences as a method to
enhance and differentiate her dance.
Angel has built a reputation as a dancer and producer in the San Francisco Bay Area. Supporting the dance community through event and video productions and workshop opportunities, Angel continues her quest for growth in the dance for herself and the overall community through the Dance Masters of Belly Dance. Her vision is to bring light to the diversity in cultural arts in the community, facilitating their introduction to the youth and continued archiving for future enjoyment.

Community Board Members and Trustees
Alicia R. Bowman, MA
Trustee
Alicia has over 15 years of education experience in
Oakland and San Leandro, CA. She holds a B.A. from Mills
College and an M.A. from Saint Mary's College of
California. As an educator she has been a classroom
teacher, instructional coach, principal and staff
developer. She has done research work with the Bay Area
School Reform Collaborative and the Western Assessment
Collaborative as a Lead Principal. She has also been a
member of Creating Equitable Bay Area Schools, a group
of administrators working on issues of racial equity in
our schools. Alicia is currently a Schools Coach for the
Bay Area Coalition for Equitable Schools, a Non Profit
Organization that works with School Districts, Schools,
and Individual Leaders to "dramatically improve
educational experiences, outcomes, and life options for
students and families who have been historically under
served by their schools and
districts."
Vikashni
Prasad - Board Member at Large.
Vikashni Prasad grew up with music and dance around the house. Her father, Gyaneshwar Prasad, played Tabla. She was immediately drawn toward dance after seeing her father performing for theater venues and collaborating with dancers. Within the few years she began her formal training and studied numerous ethnic, folk, traditional and classical dance techniques with master teachers. Her career as a photojournalist and as a fashion photographer soon came to an end after she took up serious study for dance and begin performing for various dance companies along with NaachDuniya.
Viksahni is a founder/director, producer, teacher, dancer and choreographer for NaachDuniya Dance Company and Co-founder and Artistic Director for Cultural Arts and Dance Association (CADA). She has choreographed dozens of projects and expanded traditional/ classical dance forms to contemporary choreography. NaachDuniya mission is to preserve and promote cultural roots and history.
